Boys and Baptisms

Meet Kody.

He's my bestfriend, boyfriend and he is pretty awesome.  We met sophomore year of high school in ski club and have been best friends since.  He's one of the funniest, sweetest people I know.  I could get mushy gushy and tell you more, but this is a blog not a diary haha so I will just talk about this weekend :)  March 29 Kody got baptized as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  He has a testimony of his own and a desire to follow our Savior, Jesus Christ and I couldn't be more proud of him.  He was baptized in Washington, but I was not about to miss it so you know what that meant?  ROAD TRIP!!!  Friday Mal, Brynn (another one of our roomates), and I loaded up my car and headed 10 hours to Washington.  We had ten hours of road trip games, eating snacks, amusing the other cars with our fabulous dance moves, and singing the frozen soundtrack. Oh and how could I forget our fried eggs and key lime coconut patties.
10 hours later...we made it!
IDAHO!  They have great
speed limits
Roomies!
We decided to try some new candies,
They were disgusting for the record.
Gotta have sunglasses!

Weather at the 45th parallel...
Pretty intense.

We got into Pasco around 7 Friday night and celebrated my little brother's birthday.  Saturday morning Mal, Brynn, and I  headed to Othello (about 45 minutes away)  to meet Kody for lunch at a little Mexican restaurant...Casa...??? something haha

After lunch we headed over to the church.  It was so fun to meet the missionaries that had been helping Kody learn and that I had learned so much about.  He had family there, my family was there, and it was just a great day.

After the baptism we headed back to Pasco with Kody and went to dinner with his mom and then just hung out the rest of the night.  It was fun to get to spend some time with him, I don't get to nearly enough.  Sunday morning Mal, Brynn and I headed back to Utah!! Were were dead by the time we got home to say the least.

But honestly, it was so worth it.  It was such a good weekend,  I am so blessed!!

Kody & Me :) oh and Stan, he baptized him :)

Meet Jameson.

Elder Wright in Japan!

Hes my best friend, and one of my favorite people in the world. He makes me laugh all the time, and is such a happy, sweet person. We met our junior year of high school, started dating our senior year, and here we are today, goin strong, but now through letters and emails. Jameson was called to serve as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to the Japan Tokyo South Mission. After receiving his call, I was lucky enough to be invited to go visit Japan with him and his family and see where he was going to be living for two years! He has been serving for about 8 months, and I couldn't be more proud. Its been so cool to hear his stories and see him learn Japanese, and kind of experience what his life as a missionary is. I miss him every day, but have come to the point where I know we are both right where we need to be. He is busy for two years, which means I should be too! Although I'm still willing to date and meet new people, I cant wait till I can see him again!

Freshman 15?

So as college freshman, we came to school dreading the idea of the "freshman 15" everybody talks about.  So Mal and I made a pact that we would not become victims.  We would go on runs every so often, we hiked the Y, and tried to find ways to stay active. In the fall we played on a girls intramural soccer team. From playing in the pouring rain, to playing two games in a row with no subs, we had some good times. Other than the time that Mal pulled her groin, or I shoved a player down...
But then as winter came around, we realized it was a bit too cold to go outside and exercise.  The student gym is pretty far, but we found something that worked for us....BLOGILATES!! Have you tried those? Because you should.  They are surprisingly a GREAT workout that you can just find on youtube.  So every night (well close to it)  we try to do some of Cassey's videos.  They are actually fun! Some of our favorites are ab workouts to Katy Perry's "Roar"  or   the "Call Me Maybe Squat Challenge". They are fun ways for us to keep off that freshman 15.

We also tried some new recipes...some went better then others, but they all were better than top ramen!! One day, we made green macaroni. It was good, except for the fact that when we made it, we didn't check to see how much the recipe made.  Let's just say we were eating green macaroni for a week.  We also managed to over boil our spinach milk and get it all over the stove.  But hey, good memories and yummy macaroni.

Sooo we aren't health or exercise freaks in any way, but we have discovered that eating right and exercising really does make you healthier.  Not only that, but you feel better about yourself and life in general.  School doesn't suck as bad after a good workout :)
One crazy fad going around is the goal of getting a "thigh gap" and really it's kinda silly.  You shouldn't need a gap in your thighs to feel good about your body, your worth is more than a gap folks!! Everyone has a different body shape and different body types and for some their thighs may not touch, but for most of us they do!! And that's ok!! Because honestly, it's about being healthy.  It's not about looking more like some model you see on the cover of a magazine or that girl at school, it's about being what is healthy for you and your body. As some wise person said, "comparison is the thief of joy" Your biggest competitor should be yourself. So hey, give it a shot.  Squeeze in time to exercise, eat a little healthier and love yourself the way you are. Putting in the effort to do these simple things always seems to make us a little more completely, perfectly and incandescently happy.

us.

Oh hey. I'm Malorie and I am from my favorite place in the world, Kaysville, Utah. I am the second of 4 kids and can honestly say my family are my best friends. I love my friends too. I really just love people. Happy people who can make me laugh. I love ice cream, and chicken, the color blue, and will be listening to music, singing a song, or thinking a song all day long. I WILL go to London one day and hit all 50 states. Especially Tennessee. I started at BYU Provo 6 months ago and have found it to be one of the hardest, yet best thing I have ever done. I have met great people, learned how to make recipes from Pinterest, and most importantly have begun to figure myself out.
My family: Kole, Merc, Me, and Kache
So I'm Rachel...and I really hate talking about myself, but we are gonna give it a shot here!! I am from Pasco, Washington,  a pretty great place if I do say so myself.  I am the oldest of 5 kids, 3 sisters and an adorable 3 year old brother.  Seriously though, he's the cutest little kid ever.  I love country music, cheesecake, and anything outside, spontaneous, or adventurous.  I would kill for a glassy water day wakeboarding or a day full of powder skiing. Oh and I can't forget soccer, because I love that too.  I would love to travel the world and hit up every possible island with a gorgeous beach (if only!)  I started school here at BYU six months ago just like Mal (imagine that)  and it's been a crazy ride.  Lots of ups and downs and lessons learned but I have grown so much and wouldn't trade it if I could.
Alise, Me, Matthew, Mom, Dad, Sidney, Kailey
SO. We met last August for the first time. As I was unpacking my stuff in our new room, Rachel walked in and we were instantly friends.  No introductions, no "get to know you things" just "Oh hey!"  Pre-existence friends? We think yes.  Since then we have had crazy times. Tears, tons of laughing, and everyday considerations of wondering why in the world we came to college and debating dropping out. We honestly couldn't have done it without each other though. People are constantly asking us if we knew each other before we came here and are so surprised we just met only a few months ago. We get people saying all the time that they thought we have known each other forever. SO..this blog is to share our experiences, share things we love, and share what we have learned here together. With all these crazy changes we have learned to love it here, love each other, and are honestly completely and perfectly and incandescently happy.
